While most anyone can recognize that care providing and successful outcomes are a team effort, it's integral to stand up and stand out as a leader! This March we encourage you to build on your strengths and tune-up your weaknesses to become a stronger leader in any healthcare setting and impact the people around you in a positive way.
To heck with the box!- Thinking outside of the box to provide positive outcomes in a healthcare setting is an amazing skill. Being able to think on the fly or do with limited resources is a skill that few possess. Of course you should rely on standards, policies, and precedents as a base, but when faced with challenges tap into your unique knowledge.
Be strategic- Considering the grand scheme of things when making decisions makes it that much easier. If you can understand how one small change can shape the distant outcomes, you will rise above in your team. Always keep in mind who decisions will affect and how.
Know the difference between leading and managing- The best listeners are the best leaders. Sometimes it's OK to take a hands-off approach, and other times one may have to step in and take the lead. You can lead the charge without commanding members of your team, and you would be amazed at the productivity of a highly-motivated and well-lead team.
Be part of the team!- Lead by setting an example! Lead more so by your actions and less by your words. Emulating a horizontal structure throughout a (healthcare) system is great because everyone feels equally accountable and responsible.

Making Your LinkedIn Work For You
94% of recruiters use LinkedIn to source and vet candidates, but only 36% of LinkedIn users are actively updating their profiles and using the site! Those statistics are encouraging for any users who want to make themselves stand out in the sea of candidates! A lot of people don't know where to start when it comes to updating their LinkedIn to attract recruiters and organizations; thankfully it doesn't have to be hard.
1) Your personal tagline should be relevant to your current or desired profession.
2) Think of the summary box as your elevator pitch, and use as many keywords as possible! You should be creative but also remember to keep it short and sweet. This makes it easier for recruiters to find your profile and to see what you're all about!
3) Always avoid grammatical and typo errors, just as you would on your resume! This is an instant turn-off and an easy way to weed people out (in the eyes of a recruiter).
4) Collect recommendations and testimonials from colleagues, supervisors, and industry professionals so they can speak to your experience and abilities! Think references 2.0.
5) Update your privacy settings to allow for people to contact you in the ways you would like.
Best of luck!

Why Being Mindful Matters
Thanksgiving is tomorrow, and after that is Black Friday. You've probably got a turkey to baste, a house to decorate, gifts to buy, flights to book, and a life to keep in order. But if you can't take a moment to be thankful for what you've got then does any of it matter? Take these five things with you this season:
1. Things could always be worse.
2. Reach out to someone you haven't kept up with, you'd be surprised how refreshing this can be.
3. Reflect on this year's accomplishments before 2014 is over!
4. Ask yourself if you're on the right track to reach your goals.
5. Friendship is something we all could use during this time of year.
- From the team at CR! Have a great Thanksgiving!

Focus - November is Alzheimer's Disease Awareness Month
Like many other mysterious and debilitating diseases, Alzheimer's holds a lasting impact on the lives of Alzheimer's patients' caregivers, families, friends, and communities. This month is set aside to spread awareness, encourage prevention, and enrich the lives of those affected by the disease. As a company that places healthcare professionals in long term care environments, we know that many of the people our patients work with are affected by Alzheimer's, whether directly or indirectly. A little known fact, Alzheimer's is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States, and yet, awareness of the disease is still fairly low. This month, we encourage our friends and families to learn more about Alzheimer's and gain some understanding on this mysterious brain disease. Learn more at Alz.org

Don't Mess with Texas...Just Visit!
This week, Jennifer, Sadie, and Chanel are at the 2013 Leading Age Annual Meeting & Expo in Dallas! Last week, they were at the 2013 Healthcare Staffing Summit in Chicago, and this week they've migrated south.
From a hack-fest, to legislation, to leadership, the Meeting and Expo is giving us a great opportunity to meet with other long term care professionals and share ideas!
We hope to leave the conference with a renewed sense of inspiration and hope in achieving our goals! Some things will always be important to us, and when we go to conferences like this, we are brought back to why these things are so significant to Clinical Resources:
1) Shortening the gap to health care
2) Educating the nurses of tomorrow
3) Providing you with a tailored, needs-meeting service
We will keep you all updated over the next few days. For now, we'll be enjoying our time at #LeadingAge13

4 Years In A Row! Clinical Resources Named to the Inc. Magazine 500 | 5000 For The Fourth Time!
Atlanta, GA – Inc. magazine announced today
that Clinical Resources, LLC has been named one of Inc. magazine’s 500 |
5000 fastest growing private companies for 2013. This is the fourth year
Clinical Resources has been named to this prestigious list. According to Inc.
magazine Editor in Chief Eric Schurenberg, "the Inc. 5000 was harder to
get into this year than ever in history...In addition to Clinical Resources,
the 2013 list added such powerhouses as Alex and Ani, LivingSocial, Bojangles,
OtterBox and KT Tape."
What does all of this mean?
Here's the breakdown:
-We've experienced 64% growth in the past four years!
-We respond rapidly, efficiently, and effectively to our clients' needs
-We bring passion and professionalism to the company and that has contributed to our growth
-We have displayed a high level of commitment to great service and passion for what we do.
Clinical Resources differentiates from other firms by
identifying the most talented healthcare professionals nationwide. We operate from a philosophy of a professional healthcare company rather than a
registry or staffing agency.
We focus on what is most important: efficient processes, rapid
response, excellent customer experiences, easy to access quality services and
competitive pricing.
Jennifer
Scully, our President and CEO, states, “through our vast nationwide network and
“talent sourcing” model we are able to rapidly respond to our clients with
excellent results and personalized customer service, making us one of the most
innovative and reliable healthcare staffing and search firms.”

What is JCAHO, anyway?
You’ve seen the “Gold Seal of
Approval” on our website, our flyers, and even our business cards, and it may
leave you wondering… what does JCAHO mean? The Joint Commission (TJC),
formerly the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations was
founded in 1951 to improve the quality and value or health care for the public
by evaluating health care organizations. Every year it evaluates and accredits
over 20,000 health care organizations in the United States, independently and
not for profit. While The Joint Commission was founded to raise the standards
of patient care, it also sets the standard for healthcare staffing services
firms, like us.
We proudly display our Health
Care Staffing Services Certification because it ensures quality, organization,
and dedication in everything we do. To earn the JC’s Gold Seal of Approval an
organization undergoes an onsite survey by a team at least every three years.
Being JCAHO certified means we
have made a serious commitment to a certain standard. It also establishes the
framework for our organization’s structure and management. It enhances our
recruitment and development process, and it gives you a reason to trust us with
your needs. We reduce risk, attract only the best professionals, and
demonstrate a commitment to our consultants and our clients. We maintain
organized and accurate personnel records, too (organization can make or break a
staffing firm).
We wanted to give you some
insight into the JCAHO-HSS certification process, instead of just talking about
the benefits. Let us walk you through it:
1. There is an announced initial
review, in addition to re-certification reviews that are random. All are
conducted on site.
2. The review focuses on: our
ability to provide competent staffing services, evaluating performance,
continuing education and training, and placement criteria.
3. The standards of the certification
are divided into 4 sections
· Leadership
· Human Resources Management
· Performance Measurement and Improvement
· Information Management
4. We must adopt 3 performance
measures:
·
Do not return rate for clinical reasons
·
Do not return rate for professional reasons
·
Completeness of personnel file
Who is eligible? Firms that:
-Place temporary clinical staff
in other organizations that direct or provide direct patient care
- Place temporary clinical staff
under the direct supervision of another organization's personnel
-Collect and present four months
of data for each of the three standardized performance measures by the time of
the initial (on-site) review
Although all this information may
be a handful, we want to let you in on the approval process and what it means
to us. The Joint Commission ensures that we are providing you with organized
and high quality service, and we aim to do that every day. This process, among
other regulatory processes, allows us to be the best firm we can be, and to
offer outstanding services. We sincerely hope that when you do make the decision
to search for a new experience as a job-seeker or search for qualified
candidates (as a recruiter), you consider a firm with integrity, like us.

#MeetTheTeam Part 9!
Meet Keysa Murrell, Staffing
Coordinator Number Three!
We are known
for taking care of our consultants and paying attention to every last detail
when it comes to client requests. We are so fortunate to have not one, or two,
but THREE staffing coordinators that work to match great nurses and
professionals with our clients. Every day, Keysa pulls candidates from our
database and prepares them for future placement. Through our vetting process,
she makes sure everything is perfect and people go where they need to go. Every
morning, our staffing coordinators meet and strategize to place candidates
where they should be. If one staffing coordinator has talked to a professional
that they think may be a perfect fit, they can help fill open positions and
exceed expectations. Having Keysa on the team is an absolute delight!

#MeetTheTeam Part 7!
Meet Kimberly Barnes, our Staffing
Coordinator!
You may have
noticed that we have a lot of people in the office working on sourcing
high-quality candidates. This is because
we know it takes a team to amplify our efforts in meeting clients’ needs. One
of the best things about Clinical Resources is that we can give you the
personal attention you need when it comes to anything, and we have a team that
genuinely cares about each and every one of you. Kimberly’s job, like many
others here involves recruiting potential consultants and orienting them once
they have signed on to take a position. She interviews these candidates, and
she is very careful about who she chooses. This is also what
makes us so great; we work for both sides to place the perfect candidate in the
perfect position. Kimberly is always smiling and always happy to assist in any
request, and that makes her an irreplaceable member of our team.

#MeetTheTeam Part 4!
Giving all of you the opportunity to learn about our team is important to us, and we hope it's giving you some more insight into what we do at Clinical Resources. We call ourselves a team, not a group, or anything else, because each one of us does something that contributes to the growth of our organization. We all have our strengths and our weaknesses and that's what makes us human. We don't pretend to be perfect, but we strive to provide a tailored experience to every person we come in contact with because that is our top priority. We truly hope you have been enjoying learning more about our us, so here's our next installment of #MeetTheTeam!
Meet
Susan Wernsman, our Recruitment Assistant Wonderwoman!
Susan wears many hats in our organization, she's good at many things, and she walks so quickly that it's possible for her to get all of these things done. Most days, Susan is working hard at candidate sourcing, managing our recruitment database, and assisting Jennifer or anyone else in just getting the job done, whatever it may be. She treats each candidate within our database as her own, and pays attention to every last detail in all that she does. She assists in keeping everyone's tech (gadgets, systems) updated, and always goes the extra mile.

#MeetTheTeam Part 2!
If you've taken the time out of your day to read our posts, thank you for that! We hope you enjoyed meeting Ken Cribbs yesterday. Without further adieu, here is #MeetTheTeam Part 2!
Meet Sadie Kulla, our Vice President of Operational Finance!
As stated in her
title, Sadie has two crucial responsibilities in the growth and success of
Clinical Resources; operations and finances. Day-to-day, she deals with
clients, coordinates consultant travel arrangements, checks up on consultants
making sure everything is going smoothly in their new positions, assists in
contractual requirements, oversees the finance department and represents the
company at networking and industry events. Sadie runs a tight ship, and she
definitely keeps everyone here grounded with her pragmatic approach to
business. Her years of experience in a respected physician’s practice has
helped her grow Clinical Resources into a business that practices care and diligence
with every placement and builds rapport with every client and consultant. Sadie
is results-oriented and has, over the past 5 years, built up a motivated and
outgoing team.
