Focus - November is Alzheimer's Disease Awareness Month

Like many other mysterious and debilitating diseases, Alzheimer's holds a lasting impact on the lives of Alzheimer's patients' caregivers, families, friends, and communities. This month is set aside to spread awareness, encourage prevention, and enrich the lives of those affected by the disease. As a company that places healthcare professionals in long term care environments, we know that many of the people our patients work with are affected by Alzheimer's, whether directly or indirectly. A little known fact, Alzheimer's is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States, and yet, awareness of the disease is still fairly low. This month, we encourage our friends and families to learn more about Alzheimer's and gain some understanding on this mysterious brain disease. Learn more at Alz.org

Boom!

Baby boomers means booming jobs in healthcare. With 71 million Post-WWII babies aging into retirement, healthcare professionals are more in demand than ever before. Whether you're looking for a career path or simply interested in the vast expanse of healthcare professions, look no further than this guide to learn more:

Registered Nurse: Provide and coordinate patient care and support. Has a degree and has passed a licensing exam.

Physician Assistant: A healthcare professional licensed to practice medicine with physicians as part of a team.

Physical Therapist: Provides services that aid in improving function and mobility and preventing pain and disabilities.

Laboratory Technologist: Collects samples and performs tests to analyze bodily fluids, tissue, and other substances.

Dietician: An expert on diet and nutrition.

Pharmacist: Professionally licensed to prepare and dispense medicinal drugs.

Medical Record Technician: Use various classification systems to code and categorize patient information for various databases.

If any of these careers sound appealing to you, look into advancing your education and choosing the healthcare career path. We regularly place professionals like registered nurses and physical therapists, so it's nice to know that these jobs will be "booming" during the near future.

Don't Mess with Texas...Just Visit!

This week, Jennifer, Sadie, and Chanel are at the 2013 Leading Age Annual Meeting & Expo in Dallas! Last week, they were at the 2013 Healthcare Staffing Summit in Chicago, and this week they've migrated south.

From a hack-fest, to legislation, to leadership, the Meeting and Expo is giving us a great opportunity to meet with other long term care professionals and share ideas!

We hope to leave the conference with a renewed sense of inspiration and hope in achieving our goals! Some things will always be important to us, and when we go to conferences like this, we are brought back to why these things are so significant to Clinical Resources:

1) Shortening the gap to health care
2) Educating the nurses of tomorrow
3) Providing you with a tailored, needs-meeting service

We will keep you all updated over the next few days. For now, we'll be enjoying our time at #LeadingAge13

We're Off to Carolina!

Tomorrow, Jennifer and Sadie will be attending the Emerging Business Opportunities Conference (EBOC) in Florence, South Carolina! Look out, SC!

Sponsored by the gamed General Electric, the 3rd Annual EBOC seeks to foster business development and success in a challenging economic environment like today's. It's an exchange of suppliers and buyers in the Carolinas, and it gives businesses like ours the opportunity to network and exchange ideas with corporations like GE, Honda, and Sonoco. You will often find us at many Atlanta networking events or healthcare organization events, but we wanted to make it clear that our business is in all arenas, and developing it means better quality of service for our clients and consultants. The conference will give us the opportunity to get our hands on something new and even build relationships with global corporations. The most exciting part about it all is we will take part in organized corporate matchmaking sessions (they're like business blind dates!). Look out for us there!

Some fun facts about Florence, South Carolina:

1. In the fiscal year of 2005-06, the city issued 3,918 business licenses!

2. Florence has a population of 31,000

3. There are 19.8 square miles within the city limits

Conferences like this one are important to us because they present us with the opportunity to grow. You will find that the businesses that succeed are the ones that are constantly seeking new knowledge and experiences. While we are professionals in our field with much experience and knowledge, no one person is a true expert; we take pride in the constant pursuit of knowledge and growth.
